Whether you’re a litigation support professional\, paralegal\, attorney\, or frankly anyone who goes online\, you’ll want to join the ACEDS Wisconsin Chapter as we welcome Wisconsin and Colorado-licensed attorney Kelly Twigger\, principal of ESI Attorneys and founder of the software firm\, eDiscovery Assistant\, and Washington\, DC-licensed attorney David Horrigan\, discovery counsel and legal education director at Relativity\, as they examine important case law developments from the Badger State and Beyond\, including important topics such as data collection\, preservation and proportionality in e-discovery\, mobile data\, social media\, and more. \nSpeakers:\n\n\n\nKelly Twigger is a Discovery Strategist and the Principal of ESI Attorneys\, one of the first law firms in the country dedicated to advising clients on issues in electronic discovery\, open records and FOIA\, compliance and information management. Kelly’s practice includes consulting with clients on information governance and issues with electronically stored information and acting as eDiscovery counsel for law firms\, corporations and municipalities. In 2014\, the Wisconsin State Bar recognized Kelly as a Legal Innovator for her development of the eDiscovery Assistant™\, a web based curated eDiscovery research tool and learning center that allows users to conduct ediscovery specific research and meet their ethical obligations to be up to date on ediscovery practices. Kelly is also a co-author of Electronic Discovery and Records and Information Management\, a legal resource book updated annually and published by West\, a nationally recognized speaker\, writer\, and go-to expert on eDiscovery and information management issues. She is a regular guest lecturer at law schools across the country\, blogger and ediscovery columnist for Above the Law. \n\n\n\nDavid Horrigan is discovery counsel and legal education director at Relativity. An attorney\, award-winning journalist\, and former legal technology industry analyst\, David has served as analyst and counsel at 451 Research\, reporter and assistant editor at The National Law Journal\, and counsel at the Entertainment Software Association. A law school guest lecturer and legal media contributor\, David has been cited in The American Lawyer\, American Public Media\, Bloomberg BNA\, Corporate Counsel\, JUVE (Germany)\, The Wall Street Journal CIO Journal\, The Washington Examiner\, among others\, and he has been cited in law reviews and journals of Emory University\, Northwestern University\, Yale University\, and others. David serves on the Cardozo Data Law Initiative Board of Advisors at Cardozo Law School and the Editorial Advisory Board of Legaltech News. He holds a juris doctor from the University of Florida\, studied international law at Universiteit Leiden in the Netherlands\, and is licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia.

DESCRIPTION:Join the ACEDS Wisconsin Chapter for a virtual event\n\n\nDuring this presentation\, we will provide a quick overview of legal employment for support staff and the changes that COVID brought in 2020\, as well as what to expect in 2021.  \n\nHave employers changed what they look for when hiring for remote work?\nWhat can job seekers do to stand out in this environment?\n\nSpeakers:\n\n\n\nShana Laster is a Talent Manger at Legility where she recruits and onboards top attorney talent for Legility’s Managed Review and eDiscovery operations. She also works with law firms to search for and place attorney talent in eDiscovery contract attorney positions.  Based primarily in Atlanta\, Shana has recruited and placed hundreds of attorneys in contract roles. When asked what she enjoys most about her job\, Shana notes the ability to be the bridge between helping candidates find work while also helping clients fill a needed position. Shana leverages a deep understanding of the eDiscovery industry with an understanding of clients’ eDiscovery needs. Prior to joining Legility\, Shana was an eDiscovery Staff Attorney at an Am Law 100 firm. She holds a J.D. from Vanderbilt University and a B.A.\, magna cum laude\, from Spelman College.   \n\n\n\nBlake earned his BA\, cum laude\, from Transylvania University and his JD from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law.  While in law school\, Blake focused his efforts on the DREAM Act and civil rights\, assisting with peer reviewed articles on the subject as well as the writing of the book Persistent Inequalities by Professor Maria Pabon Lopez.  Upon admission to the Tennessee bar\, Blake joined Legility\, assisting in complex transactional and litigation matters for Am Law 100 law firms and large corporations in the areas of healthcare\, financial services\, retail\, manufacturing\, real estate\, and intellectual property.  In 2016\, he assumed his current role of Talent Manager with Legility\, assisting attorneys in Nashville and nation-wide with professional development and career placement\, and assisting large law firm and corporate clients with talent-based solutions.  He is a member of the Nashville Bar Association and serves on the board of the Lawyers Association for Women Marion Griffin Chapter.
